Drips when you try to pour it and the silicone is poorly glued to the spout.

I was really excited to start using this cast iron teapot. My main criteria in searching for a replacement teapot (after having two glass ones break due to careless handling): heat retention, durability, and aesthetics. The Saga looked like it would check all of those boxes. But after using it for a week, I'm disappointed to say its only redeeming quality is the heat retention aspect. There is a silicone piece glued to the spout, which was not well attached. I could see shiny bits of glue where the glue dried on the pot near the attachment point. Tea was leaking through the spaces between the silicone and the cast iron spout as I was trying to pour it. Small pockets of rust developed in the spaces where the silicone should have been well attached. I know it's normal for cast iron to develop small bits of rust and I expected it on places like the handle or near the lid, but for it to develop in a place due directly to poor manufacturing is very disappointing. I'm not even sure why there is a piece of silicone on the spout anyway. After I plugged the opening with a little superglue, it seemed to pour better, but overall the aesthetics are ruined for me.

Daily rituals can consist of many things. Things that we’d rather not be doing. There’s only one ritual that is grounding, calming, brings clarity and refuels your mind. We’re of course talking about brewing tea. Tea is an ancient healing drink that soothes the mind, body and soul. Brewing tea is the perfect way to vivify yourself before a day of bookshop browsing or unwind after a day of art gallery-hopping. It is one ritual you ought not to miss.
